What do you do when you accidentally spill beer on your 5-year old MacBook Pro and screw up the logic board?
Replace it with a Panasonic Toughbook so that never happens again. Do your worst, D.G. Yuengling & Son, I’m ready this time.

Most of my modern problems require “outdated” solutions...
Screw dorm wifi, E thernet cables forever!

They take a bit to fire up in -40, but they’re good laptops.

We got yelled at for having our ethernet cords running across the floor, which apparently is a fire evacuation hazard. We taped them down and called it good enough.

It’s a Kinja thing. I’ve seen it in several threads today.

I believe the lowest temperature on record here is like -4.9, about 4 months before I was born, so shouldn’t be a problem

I have to use Toughbooks at work on a daily basis. I hope you like it, because I sure don’t. They sure are tough, though... I may or may not have thrown one from the top of an aircraft into a foot-deep puddle in a Florida rain storm a few years back. It was unscathed. I *almost* lost my cool that day.

I had a lighter, semi-rugged one in college (which replaced a high school Dell that slid down a flight of stairs), so I kind of knew what I was getting. I’m not actually that tough on laptops - my last Apple made it 5 years and still semi works, the Apple before that I used for 6 years without incident (that one is still in perfect working order, the hardware is just too out of date to really use anymore).
